Quran

إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

Until the day with a specific known time.

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

He said, Lord because you enticed me, I will adorn everything on the land for them and I will definitely entice them all – 

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

–except your servants who are devoted purely to You.

قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ

He said; this is My straight path.

إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ

As for my servants, you will indeed have no authority over them, except the strayers who follow you. 

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

And surely Gehenna is promised to them all.

لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ

It has seven gates; each gate assigned to a specific group of them.  

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

Indeed the god-fearing will enjoy paradises with flowing springs.

ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ

Enter therein with peace and security. 

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ

And We will remove all jealousy from their hearts; they will be brethrens, on furnishings side by side.

لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ

No hardship will ever touch them and they will never be evicted therefrom. 

نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Inform My servants that I am indeed The All Forgiving, The All Merciful.

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ

And that indeed My retribution is most agonizing. 

وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

And inform them about the guests of Abraham.  

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ

When they entered, they said, peace, he said, we are indeed apprehensive of you. 

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ

They said; do not be apprehensive; we are indeed giving you the good news of a knowledgeable son. 

قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ

He said; are you giving me the good news despite my old age, are you sure you are giving this good news? 

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَـٰنِطِينَ

They said; we are giving you the good news truthfully; therefore do not resort to despair.

قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ

He said, and who would despair from his Lord’s mercy except those who have gone astray.

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

He said, what is your mission O you messengers? 

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ

They said; we are dispatched to the guilty people. 

إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

As for the family of Lot, we will indeed save them all,- 

إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ

-except for his wife, she is indeed destined to be one of the doomed. 

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

Then when the messengers arrived at Lot’s family – 

قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ

–he said, you are indeed people we do not recognize. 

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

They said; we are bringing to you what they doubted. 

وَأَتَيْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ

And we are bringing to you the truth, and we are indeed truthful.  

فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ

Therefore, take your family during the night, and follow behind them and none of you shall look back and fulfill this exactly as you are commanded.

وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ

And We delivered this instruction to him, for indeed these people will be uprooted in the morning. 

وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

And the people of the city came joyfully.

قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ

He said, indeed these are my guests; do not embarrass me. 

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ

And fear God and do not disgrace me.

قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

They said; did we not enjoin you from contacting other people? 

قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ

He said; here are my daughters if you must.

لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

Indeed it was no good, for they were blind by their intoxication.

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ

Then the thunder came upon them in the morning.

فَجَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

We then made it upside down and showered them with devastating mud-like rocks.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

Surely in this, there are warnings for those who desire handsome men. 

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ

Indeed this is the eternal method. 

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Surely in this, there is a sign for the faithful. 

وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِينَ

Surely, the people of the woods were indeed unjust. 

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ

We sought vengeance from them and indeed both of them are kept in a profound record. 

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

And indeed the people who practiced interdiction rejected the messengers.

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ

And indeed We presented to them Our signs, but they were totally averse towards them. 

وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ

And they used to carve secure homes in the mountains. 

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ

Then, the thunder came to them in the morning. 

فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

Nothing that they earned enriched them. 

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةٌ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ

And We did not create the vacua and matter and what is between the two of them except truthfully. As for the Hour, it is surely coming; therefore, treat it with benign neglect.  

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Indeed your Lord is The Creator, The All Knower. 

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ

And surely, We have given you the seven pairs and the great Quran.
