ٱصْلَوْهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

Today it will be your abode, because of your unfaithfulness.

ٱلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

On that day, We will seal their mouths and their hands will speak to us, and their feet will bear witness to everything they have done.

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ

If We willed, We could have certainly veiled their eyes; consequently they would have wandered off without being able to see.

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ

And if We willed, We could have transfixed them in their places; so they could not move forward, nor could they go back.

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And when We grant a long life to any one, We reverse him back to the original creation. Do they not then use their intelligence?

وَمَا عَلَّمْنَـٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْءَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

We did not teach him poetry, nor is it befitting for him to recite one. It is only a reminder and a profound Quran.

لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

This is to warn those who are alive and to fulfill the truthful promise for the unfaithful.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَـٰمًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَـٰلِكُونَ

Do they not see that We created for them from Our handiwork livestock that they own?

وَذَلَّلْنَـٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ

And We have subdued them for them that they may ride some and some they may eat.

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ

And there are benefits for them as well as sources of drink. Would they not then be grateful?

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

And they assumed other gods besides God that they may be helped.

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُّحْضَرُونَ

They have no power to help them: however, they serve them like obedient soldiers.

فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ

Therefore, do not let their utterances sadden you; We know exactly what they hide and what they declare.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ

Does the human being not see that We indeed created him from semen, then he turns into the most manifest enemy?

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌ

And he cites an example for Us, while forgetting his own creation, he says; who can resurrect the bones after they are rotted?

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ

Say; the One who initiated them in the first place will resurrect them and He fully knows every creation.

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ

The One who produces fuel for you from the green tree, then you ignite fire therewith.

أَوَلَيْسَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Is the One who created the vacua and matter not able to create the likes of them? Yes indeed, and He is The Creator, The All Knowing.

إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Indeed, once He decides anything, He simply says to it; “Be” and it is.

فَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Therefore, glory to the One in whose hand is the kingship of all things and to Him you will be returned.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.

وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا

By the arrangers in rows.

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا

And those who assign culpability.

فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا

And those who recite the reminder-

إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ

-proclaiming that surely your god is one.

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ

Lord of the vacua and matter and everything between them and Lord of all locations of sunrise.

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ

We have indeed adorned the lowest vacuum with splendid planets.

وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ

And there is a guard against every rebellious devil.

لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ

They cannot eavesdrop on the high society and they will be bombarded from every direction.

دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ

Rejected, and for them there is a continuous suffering.

إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ

As for the one who snatches away something secretly, he will be pursued by a powerful projectile.

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ

Therefore, ask them, are they more difficult to create than all We have created? Indeed We created them from sticky mud.

بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ

While you are in awe, they are mocking.

وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ

And, when they are reminded they do not take heed.

وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ

And, when they see a sign, they mock.

وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

And they say; this is nothing but clear magic.

أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

When we die, and become dust and bones, will we be resurrected-

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

-also our forefathers?

قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ

Say, definitely, and you will be forced.

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

Then it will be a single blow while they are waiting.

وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

They will say, woe to us, this is the Day of Faith.

هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

This is the day of reckoning that you used to deny.

ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ

Summon the unjust together with their spouses and what they used to worship –

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

-besides God, then lead them to the path of the Inferno.

وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ

Stop them, indeed they will be asked,-

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ

-why do you not help each other?

بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ

No way, on that day they will strive for peace.

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

And they turn to one another wondering-

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ

-they say; indeed you were the ones who came to us acting so holy.

قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

They say; no you, yourselves were not faithful.
