سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ

Peace upon Elias.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

We thus indeed reward the pious.

إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

He was indeed one of Our faithful servants.

وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

And surely Lot was one of the messengers.

إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ

As We saved him and his family, all-together –

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ

-except an old hag who was left with the doomed.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ

We then destroyed the others.

وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ

And certainly you pass by them during the day –

وَبِٱلَّيْلِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

-and during the night. Do you not use your intelligence?

وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Also Jonah was one of the messengers.

إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ

When he took refuge in the loaded ship.

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ

He joined them, consequently he became a rejecter.

فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ

Then the whale swallowed him, and only he was to be blamed.

فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ

Had he not resorted to supplication,-

لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

-he would have surely remained inside his belly until the Day of Resurrection.

فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ

We therefore threw him out into the desert and he was really sick.

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ

And We grew for him a tree with edible fruit.

وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ

And We dispatched him to a hundred thousand or more.

فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

And they all attained faith; consequently, We let them enjoy for awhile.

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ

Ask them; does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?

أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ

Or did We create the angels female, while they were witnessing?

أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ

They do indeed make up other lies as they say;-

وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ

God has begotten a son. However, they are indeed liars.

أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ

Has He chosen daughters rather than sons?

مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

What is with you? How can you judge like this?

أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Do you not take heed?

أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ

Or do you have a profound authority?

فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ

Therefore, bring your scripture if you are truthful.

وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ

And they also invented a relationship between Him and the jinns; however, the jinns know full well that they all stand ready at His disposal.

سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Glory to God, far above their descriptions.

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Exempted are God’s servants who are devoted purely to Him.

فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ

Indeed, neither you nor what you worship-

مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ

-disturbs Him in the least.

إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

It only disturbs those who are in the heart of the Inferno.

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ

Each one of us has a specific rank.

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ

And we are certainly stratified in rows.

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ

And we are constantly glorifying god.

وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ

And there are those who say,-

لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

if only we had a reminder like that of the previous generations-

لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

-we would have definitely been servants of God, and would have been purely devoted to Him.

فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

But they rejected him, consequently, they will soon find out.

وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Our word has already been decreed to Our servants who are messengers.

إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ

Indeed they shall be victorious.

وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ

And Our armies always conquer.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ

Therefore, leave them alone for a while.

وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ

And watch them, they are also watching.

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Are they rushing to receive Our punishment?

فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

However, when it descends upon their backyard, what a miserable day will it be for those who were warned.

وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ

Therefore, ignore them for a while.

وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ

And watch, they are also watching.
