وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
If you ask them, who created them, they will surely say, God. How can they then deviate?
وَقِيلِهِۦ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
And He will be told, O Lord, indeed these are people who are not faithful.
فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَـٰمٌ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Therefore, disregard them and say, “Peace”. They will soon find out.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
حمٓ
HaMeem
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
And the proven scripture.
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
We surely revealed it during a blessed night. We indeed dispatch warners.
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
In it every wise command has been detailed.
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
It is a command from Us. Indeed We dispatch messengers.
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
It is a mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is The All Hearer, The All Knower.
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
The Lord of the vacua and matter and everything between them, if you have attained certainty
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
There is no god except He; He grants life and death. He is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors.
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
However, they are full of doubt, playful.
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
Therefore, be on the watch for the day when the sky brings forth a tremendous smoke.
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
It will envelope the people. This will be a painful suffering.
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
Our Lord, remove the adversity from us, now we are indeed believers.
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
Only now do they take heed, despite the fact that a proven messenger did come to them.
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
But they turned away from him and said; he is knowledgeable but crazy.
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
We will indeed remove the adversity a little, but you will surely revert.
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
The day We deliver the great blow, We shall certainly avenge.
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
And We surely tested before them the people of Pharaoh, when an honorable messenger came to them.
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
Saying; let God’s servants go with me, I am indeed an honest messenger to you.
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
And do not be arrogant toward God. I indeed come to you with a profound authority.
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
I have indeed sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
If you do not believe me, at least leave me alone.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
He then called upon his Lord, saying; these are indeed guilty people.
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
Therefore, travel with My servants by night, you will surely be pursued.
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
Cross the sea leisurely, for indeed they are an army to be drowned.
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
They left behind many gardens with flowing rivers-
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
-and crops and an honorable position,-
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
-as well as blessings which they enjoyed.
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
It was so decreed and We made other people inheritors.
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
And neither the vacuum nor matter wept for them and they were never given a respite.
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
And We indeed delivered the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment-
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
-of Pharaoh. He was surely arrogant, a transgressor.
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
And We indeed chose them with full knowledge over all the people.
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
And gave them signs wherein there was a proven test.
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
Indeed here they are, saying;-
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
-we only die once and we will never be resurrected.
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
Then bring our ancestors, if you are truthful.
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
Are they better than the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
And We did not create the vacua and matter, and everything between them, just to play.
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know.
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Indeed, the Day of Judgment is promised to all of them.
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
The Day when no friend can help a friend in the least, nor can they receive any help.
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Exempted are those whom God showered with His mercy. He is surely The Almighty, The All Merciful.
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
Surely, the tree of bitterness-
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
-will be the food for the sinners.
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
Like lava; it will boil in their bellies.
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
Like the boiling of hellish liquid.
