مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ

Forbidder of goodness, transgressor, full of doubt.

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ

He is the one who made up another god besides God. Throw him into the ultimate suffering.

قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ

His companion says, our Lord, I did not mislead him, he was already far astray.

قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ

He will say, do not argue in front of Me, I had sufficiently warned you about the promised day.

مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

I never break a promise and I am not unjust towards My servants.

يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ

The day when We ask Gehenna, are you completely full? It will say, are there any more?

وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ

And Paradise will be brought close to the righteous, not far away.

هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ

This is what was promised to every penitent, steadfast.

مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ

The one who fears The All Gracious in his privacy, and comes with a penitent heart.

ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ

Enter therein in peace; this is the Day of Eternity.

لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ

There will be everything they wish for and We even have more.

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ

And how many generations before them did We annihilate who possessed more power than them? Then they searched throughout the country, was there any way out?

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

Indeed, in this, there is a reminder for anyone who has a heart or lends an ear and who is an honest broker.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ

And We indeed created the vacua and matter and everything between them in six days, and no fatigue ever touched Us.

فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ

Therefore, be patient in the face of their utterances and glorify and praise your Lord before sunrise and before sunset.

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ

And during the night, glorify Him and after prostration.

وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ

And listen the day when the caller will call from a nearby location.

يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ

The day they hear the thunderous sound according to the truth. That will be the Day of Exodus.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ

Indeed, We grant life and death; and to Us is the final destiny.

يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ

The day the ground cracks open and lets them out in a hurry. That is the summoning which is so easy for Us.

نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ

We know full well what they say, and you are not to force them in any way, therefore, remind with this Quran those who fear the promised day.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.

وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا

By the blowing winds.

فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا

Carrying heavy loads.

فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا

Bringing prosperity.

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا

Distributing it according to the command.

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ

Indeed, what is promised is the truth.

وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ

And indeed the Faith shall be the absolute reality.

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ

By the vacuum, locus of weaving orbits.

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ

Surely, you continue to dispute.

يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ

Turning away from it is the one who has deviated.

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ

Woe to the conjecturers.

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ

Those who blunder and are completely heedless.

يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

They ask; when will be the Day of Faith?

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ

That is a Day when they will be tormented in Hell.

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Taste your torment; this is what you used to challenge.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

The righteous will indeed abide in paradises with flowing springs.

ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ

They only take what their Lord gives them. That is because, even prior to this, they were righteous.

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ

They used to sleep only a little during the night.

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ

And before dawn, they ask for forgiveness.

وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

And a portion of their money is set aside rightfully for the beggar and the deprived.

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ

And within matter, there are proofs for those who have attained certainty-

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ

-as well as within yourselves. Do you not then see?

وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ

And in the sky is your provision, and that which is promised.

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ

Then, by the Lord of the vacuum and matter, this is indeed the absolute truth, just like the fact that you indeed speak.

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ

Have you heard the story of Abraham’s honored guests?

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ

When, they arrived in his dwelling, they said: “Peace”, he said, “Peace, strangers”.

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ

He then went to his family and returned with a plump calf.

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ

He then placed it before them saying; will you not eat?

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ

He developed a fear of them. They said; do not be frightened and they gave him the good news of a knowledgeable son.
