بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
طسٓمٓ
TSM.
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
These are the proofs of this clarifying scripture.
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
You may blame yourself because they are not believers.
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
If We will, We could send down from the sky a sign that makes them bow their necks humbly.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
And there was not a single reminder from The All Gracious fully narrated, that they did not object.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Then indeed they disbelieved, therefore, they will soon receive the results of their mockery.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
Do they not see all kinds of beautiful plants that We grow out of the land?
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, in this there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And indeed, your Lord is The Almighty, The All Merciful.
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
And when your Lord called upon Moses to go to the people who are committing injustice,-
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
-the people of Pharaoh, that they may become god-fearing;-
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
he said, Lord, I indeed fear that they may reject me.
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
And I may get angry and I may become tongue-tied, therefore, send for Aaron.
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
And they have a charge against me; I therefore fear that they may kill me.
قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
He said; no it will not be so, therefore, the two of you go with Our signs; indeed We will be with you listening.
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Thereafter, the two of you go to Pharaoh, and say, we are indeed messengers of the Lord of the multiverse.
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
You shall let the children of Israel go with us.
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
He said, did we not raise you among us as a son and did you not live many years of your life amongst us?
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
And you did whatever you wanted to do and you are unappreciative.
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
He said; I did it because I was astray.
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Then I ran away from you because I feared you, my Lord then granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
And this is a blessing that He has bestowed upon me, while you enslaved the Children of Israel.
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Pharaoh said, and what is the Lord of the multiverse?
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
He said, the Lord of the vacua and matter and what is in between them, if you are certain.
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
He said, to those around him, are you listening to this?
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
He said; your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
He said, indeed your messenger who has been dispatched to you is crazy.
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
He said, the Lord of the east and the west and what is in between them if you possess intelligence.
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
He said, if you take any god but me, I will surely imprison you.
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
He said; what if I show you a proof?
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
He said; bring it then if you are truthful.
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
He therefore threw his staff and it became a real serpent.
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
He took out his hand and it was white to the onlookers.
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
He said to his audience, indeed he is a knowledgeable magician.
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
He wants to evict you from your homeland with his magic, what do you then suggest?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
They said, let us keep him and his brother here and send out to cities to gather –
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
-and bring you every knowledgeable magician.
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
The magicians congregated on an agreed day.
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
And the people were told, would you also come?
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
We will indeed follow the magicians if they happen to be the winners.
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
Then the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh would we be rewarded if we win?
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
He said; of course and you will indeed join the elite.
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
Moses told them throw whatever you have to present.
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
They then threw their ropes and sticks and said by Pharaoh’s majesty, we will indeed be winners.
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
Then Moses threw his staff whereby it swallowed what they fabricated.
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
The magicians fell prostrate.
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
They said we believe in the Lord of the multiverse –
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
– Lord of Moses and Aaron.
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
He said; did you believe before I granted you permission? Indeed your great one shall be the one who taught you magic, therefore, you will soon find out. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on the alternate sides and crucify you all.
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
They said; we have no fear, we will indeed return to our Lord.
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
We surely hope that He forgives our wrongs now that we are the first to believe.
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
And We inspired Moses, leave during the night with my servants, you will indeed be pursued.
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
Then Pharaoh sent emissaries to the cities.
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
Indeed these are only very few.
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
They have really made us enraged.
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
We will indeed prepare for this.
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
We therefore, evicted them from paradises with flowing springs –
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
-and treasures and an honorable position.
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
We thus made the Children of Israel the inheritors.
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
They therefore chased them towards the east.
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
Then once the people of Moses saw the two groups, they said; we will indeed be captured.
قَالَ كَلَّآ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
He said; not so, indeed my Lord is with me and He will guide me.
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
We then inspired Moses, hit the sea with your staff, it will part and each side will be like a great mountain.
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
And We let them pass.
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
And saved Moses and all those who were with him.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
We then drowned the others.
Indeed in this there is a sign and most of them were not believers.
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
And recite to them the history of Abraham.
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
As he said to his father and his people, what are you worshiping?
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
They said; we worship statues and we are totally devoted to them.
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
He said; do they hear you when you call them?
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
Or do they benefit or harm you?
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
They said; we found our parents doing this.
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
He said; do you realize what you are worshiping –
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
-you and your fathers before you?
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
These are indeed my enemies; but not so the Lord of the multiverse.
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
He is the One who created me, and then He guides me.
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
And He is the One who feeds me and waters me.
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
And when I get sick, He heals me.
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
And He is the One who puts me to death then resurrects me.
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
And He is the One who hopefully forgives my errors on the Day of Faith.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
Lord, grant me wisdom and let me join the righteous.
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
And make my tongue utter the truth when dealing with others.
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
And make me the inheritor of the blessed Paradise.
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
And forgive my father; indeed he is one of the strayers.
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
And do not humiliate me on the Day of Resurrection.
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
The day that neither money nor sons will benefit.
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
Only those who come to God with a peaceful heart.
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
And Paradise will be brought closer to the god-fearing.
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
And the Inferno will be visible to the transgressors.
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
And they will be told, where are those things you used to worship –
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
-besides God? Are they helping you or do they need help themselves?
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
Then, they will be piled up therein together with the transgressors.
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
As well as the armies of Iblis, all of them.
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
They said, while fighting therein;
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
-by God we were in manifest straying –
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
-when we equated you to the Lord of the multiverse.
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
We were misled by the guilty.
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
We therefore have no intercessors.
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
And no true close friend.
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
If only we could get another chance, we would then become believers.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
The people of Noah rejected the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Noah said to them, would you not become god-fearing?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
Indeed I am an honest messenger to you.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Therefore, you shall fear God and obey.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
I do not ask you for any wage, my wage comes from the Lord of the multiverse.
قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
They said, should we believe for your sake, while the worst have followed you?
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
He said; I have no knowledge of their actions.
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
Their reckoning only rests with my Lord, if you understand.
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And I will never abandon the faithful.
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
I am only a manifest warner.
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
They said, O Noah, if you do not refrain we will stone you.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
He said; Lord, indeed my people have rejected.
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Therefore, take me away from them victoriously and save me and the faithful along with me.
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
We saved him and those with him on the loaded ship.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
We then drowned the rest.
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Aad rejected the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Eber said to them, would you not become god-fearing?
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
You build all kinds of signs in every high place just to play.
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
And you manufacture things as though you are going to be immortal.
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
And when you strike, you strike forcefully.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And fear the One who continues to give you your knowledge.
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
Who continues to give you livestock and sons –
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
-and gardens and springs.
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
I fear for you the suffering of a great day.
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
They said; it is the same for us if you enlighten us or do not enlighten us.
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
This is nothing but the same as previous generations.
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
We will never suffer.
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
They rejected him; consequently We annihilated them. Indeed, in this there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Thamoud rejected the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Saleh said to them, would you not become god-fearing?
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
Do you think you will be left alone here secure –
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
-in gardens and springs –
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
-and the crops and date palms with beautiful blossoms?
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ
And you carve homes in the mountain skillfully.
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
And do not obey the ways of the transgressors.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
Those who corrupt the land and never do any righteous deed.
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
They said; indeed you are bewitched.
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
You are no more than a human being like us, so bring us a sign if you are truthful.
قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
He said; here is this camel, she drinks on a different day from your known drinking day.
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
And do not touch her with any harm, lest you will incur a suffering on a great day.
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
Later on, they maimed her and ended up sorry the next day.
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
Consequently, they endured the suffering. Indeed, in this there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
The people of Lot rejected the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When their brother Lot said to them, would you not become god-fearing?
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Do you prefer males of the world?
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
And abandon what your Lord has created for you as wives? You are truly transgressing people.
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
They said; O Lot if you do not refrain, we will deport you.
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
He said; indeed I despise your actions.
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
Lord, save me and my family from their acts.
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
We therefore, saved him and his family altogether –
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
-except the old woman who remained with the doomed.
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
We then turned it upside down.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
And showered them with a shower, what a miserable shower for those who had been warned.
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
The dwellers of Aika rejected the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When Jethro said to them, would you not become god-fearing?
أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
Be honest when measuring and do not cheat.
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
And weigh with an equitable scale.
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
Do not cheat people out of their belongings and do not use matter wickedly as corruptors.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
And fear the One who created you as well as the early generations.
They said; you are indeed bewitched.
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
And you are no more than a human being like us, and we think that you are a liar.
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Therefore, bring down masses from the sky if you are truthful.
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
He said; my Lord knows best what you are doing.
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Therefore, they rejected him, and the suffering of the day of the canopy overwhelmed them. Indeed it was suffering of an awesome day.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
And indeed, this is a revelation from the Lord of the multiverse.
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
The honest Spirit revealed it –
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
-into your heart, in order to make you one of the warners.
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
In a perfect Arabic tongue.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
It was indeed in the previous scriptures.
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel knew about it?
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
Had We revealed it to non-Arabs –
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
-and if We had you recite it to them, they would have not believed.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
We thus fix it in the hearts of the guilty.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
They will not believe in it until they come face to face with the painful suffering.
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
It will come upon them suddenly, and they cannot perceive.
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
Then they say; can we have a respite?
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
Did you not long for Our punishment?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
Did you not see that We provided for you for years?
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
Then it came to you what was promised.
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
Their provision did not enrich them in the least.
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
We never annihilated any community without warning.
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
A reminder and We are never unjust.
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
The demons never revealed it.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
It is above them and they can never do it.
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
They are indeed forbidden from listening to it.
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
Therefore, do not call upon another god besides God lest you will suffer.
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
You shall warn your relatives who are close to you.
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And you shall lower your wings for your followers who are faithful.
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And if they rebel against you, then say, I am not responsible for your actions.
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
And put your trust in The Almighty, The All Merciful.
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
The One who sees you when you rise.
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
And as you lead by example amongst the worshippers.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Indeed He is The All Hearer, The All Knower.
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
Shall I inform you of those whom the demons descend upon?
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
They descend upon every fabricator, sinner.
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
They pretend to listen while most of them are liars.
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
And the poets are followed by the transgressors.
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
Do you not see that they are like weather vanes?
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
And indeed they preach what they do not practice.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
Not so are those who attain faith and lead a righteous life and commemorate God frequently and they shall attain victory after having suffered injustice. And the unjust will soon find out their final destiny.
