بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
When the vacuum is ruptured.
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
And hears her Lord and the truth is fulfilled.
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
And when the matter loses cohesion.
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
And manifests what is inside it and becomes a void.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
O you human being, indeed you are on an arduous journey to your Lord and you will meet Him.
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
As for the one who receives his record with blessing,-
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
-he will soon receive an easy reckoning.
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
And he will return to his family joyfully.
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
But the one who receives his record behind his back,-
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
he will soon be called to oblivion.
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
And he will enter a raging inferno.
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
Indeed he used to be happy with his family.
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
Indeed he used to think that he would never be called to account.
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
Yes indeed, his Lord was always watching him.
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
Therefore, I swear by the dusk,-
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
-and the night as it covers,-
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
-and the Moon going through its phases,-
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
-you will indeed ride on classified levels.
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then why do they not believe?
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
And when the Quran is recited to them, they do not honor it.
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
On the contrary the unfaithful are always in denial.
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
And God fully knows their innermost secrets.
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Therefore, inform them of a painful suffering.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
As for the faithful who lead a righteous life, reserved for them is an unending reward.
