بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
The All Gracious-
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
-teaches the Quran.
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
He created the human being.
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
He teaches him how to distinguish.
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
The sun and the moon are exactly calculated.
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
And the star and the tree prostrate.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
And He raised the sky and established the balance.
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
Absolutely, do not violate the balance.
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
And set the scales equitably and do not disturb the balance.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
He set up the earth for all creatures.
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
In it are fruits and date palms with hanging clusters.
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
And whole grain and spices.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Then which of your Lord’s marvels can you two deny?
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
He created the human being from clay like potter’s clay.
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
And He created the jinns from blazing fire.
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
He is Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests.
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
He separates the two seas where they meet.
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
Between them is a barrier, they cannot transgress.
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
Out of both of them come pearls and coral.
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ
And to Him belong the ships in the sea like flags.
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
Everyone on it will perish.
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
And eternal is the face of your Lord, possessor of Majesty and Honor.
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
Seeking Him is everyone in the vacua and matter. Every day He is in full control.
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
We will soon settle the matter for you, O you two masses.
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
O you multitudes of jinns and humans if you can penetrate the diameters of the vacua and matter; go ahead and penetrate. You can never penetrate except by authorization.
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
The two of you will be bombarded by blazing fire and molten copper and you will have no help.
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
When the vacuum ruptures and becomes red like rouge.
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
Then there will be a day when no human and no jinn will be asked about his sin.
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
The guilty will be recognized by their looks, and they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
This is Gehenna that the guilty used to deny.
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
They circulate between it and the intolerable Inferno readily.
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
As for the one who fears the Majesty of his Lord, there will be two paradises.
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
Containing everything.
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
In each of the two, a spring is flowing.
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
In them, there will be all sorts of fruits, two kinds.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
They will relax on furnishings with linings of silk. And the fruits of the two paradises will be within reach.
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
Therein will be demure companions subduing their eyes, except for their husbands; that no human and jinn have ever touched them.
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
They are like rubies and coral.
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ
Is the reward for goodness anything but goodness?
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
And below these two are two other paradises.
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
Both are lush green.
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
In these two, there are two springs gushing out.
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
In both there will be fruits, and dates and pomegranates.
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
In them will be pure, beautiful companions.
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
Demure companions residing in tents who subdue their eyes except for their husbands.
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
No human or jinn has ever touched them previously.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
They will be relaxing on green cushions and in luxurious establishments.
تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
