بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ
Have you received the narration regarding the overwhelming?
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ
Some faces on that day will be subdued,-
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ
-laboring, tired,-
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً
-entering the intolerable Hell.
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ
They are given drinks from a boiling spring.
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ
There is no food for them except the useless kind.
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ
It is neither nutritious nor does it satisfy hunger.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ
Some faces on that day will be joyful.
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ
They are pleased with their efforts.
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
In exalted Paradise.
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰغِيَةً
They will hear no nonsense therein.
فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ
Therein will be an ever-flowing spring.
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ
Therein will be luxurious furnishings-
وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ
-and pitchers of drinks always available,-
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ
-and cushions in row after row,-
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ
-and magnificent carpets throughout.
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
Do they not look at the camel and how it was created?
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
And the sky, how it was raised high?
وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
And the mountains, how they are fixed in place?
وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
And the land, how it is surfaced?
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
Therefore, continue to remind for indeed you are only a reminder.
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
You have no power over them.
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
Woe to the one who turns away and loses faith,-
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ
-then God will make him suffer a grave suffering.
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ
Surely to Us is their final destiny.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
Then indeed it is We who deal with their reckoning.
