بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
Read in the name of your Lord who created;
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
Created the human being from an embryo.
ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ
Read and your Lord, the most honorable.
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
The One who teaches how to write.
عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
He teaches the human being what he does not know.
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
Absolutely, indeed the human being is always rebellious.
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ
He sees himself in no need.
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ
Indeed, to your Lord is the final return.
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
Do you see the one who forbids-
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
-a servant of god from praying?
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
Is it not better if he were guided-
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ
-or advocated righteousness?
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
Do you see the one who rejects and ignores?
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
Does he not realize that God can see?
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
Absolutely, unless he refrains, We will indeed take him by the forelock.
نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ
The forelock of a liar, a wrong-doer.
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
Therefore, let him call for help.
سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
We will summon the Guardians of Hell.
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩
Absolutely, do not obey him and fall prostrate and come closer.
