الأعلى

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God; The All-Gracious, The All-Merciful.

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى

Glorify constantly the name of your Lord, The Exalted.

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

The One who created, then balanced.

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ

And the One who exactly measured then guided.

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ

And the One who brings out the pasture.

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ

Then He turns it into dark dead leaves.

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ

We will recite to you, therefore do not forget-

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ

-everything is in accordance with God’s will. He indeed knows the obvious as well as the hidden.

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

And We will make it easy for you.

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ

Therefore, keep on reminding, for the reminder may be beneficial.

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ

The reminder will be received only by those who are reverent.

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى

And avoiding it is the utmost evildoer.

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

This is the one who will enter the great Fire.

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ

Then, he neither dies therein nor stays alive.

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ

Surely, success belongs to the one who gives the cleansing charity-

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ

-and commemorates the name of his Lord, and observes the contact prayer.

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا

Yet, you prefer this worldly life-

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

-while the Hereafter is far better and everlasting.

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Indeed, this is so recorded in the ancient scrolls-

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ

-the scrolls of Abraham and Moses.
