Verse 148

وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَـٰلِمِينَ

And right after he left, the people of Moses made a statue of a calf from their jewelry, which made a noise. Did they not see that it could not speak to them nor could it guide them in any way? They preferred it anyway and thus became transgressors.
